What is a mortar

Malta is a slurry that consists of a mixture of several substances. It is used in the building industry as a plaster or bonding material. This slurry, which is composed of water, sand and slaked lime or cement , is applied between the required parts (bricks) or on the surface (plaster) and afterwards solidifies.

When plastering the walls, the moistened wall is covered with a few centimeters of mortar and, after a slight drying, is lined with a lath. Malta has been in use since the Middle Ages . If you need advice on construction , building materials and works , please contact us .
